Overview
Each class students will review notes on the staff and/or rhythm patterns and then compose a short song with those notes and rhythms.
Level Required
Students must be able to read on the staff, approximately from bass C to treble C (ie. students in the latter half of Alfred Premier 1A or the end of Music for Little Mozarts level 2 and up). The great thing about this course is that as long as they know basic notes, students of all levels are welcome. The composition templates can be as simple or complex as the student would like. More advanced students will be guided through also adding chords while lower level students will just write the melody.
Materials
Students just need a copy of the workbook Composition Corner, available as a digital download for print or a hardcopy to order, and a pencil (as well as their instrument of course).
