Meet a Composer

Overview

Students will take a trip through the four main periods of Western music by learning about a composer from each. We will complete activities about each, including crosswords, coloring pages, and board games, and then learn one of their songs adapted to the level of the student.

Level Required

All levels welcome. Students will receive a version of the composer's song adapted to their level, even for pre-reading students. It is preferred that students are reading on the staff and can read along. However, students in pre-reading music and/or who cannot read yet can participate if they have a parent or guardian assisting them.

Materials

Upon enrollment, students will receive a few pages to print out with a coloring page, facts page, and sheet music of the composer's song on their level. They will need a pencil and colors.
